The peacemaking metaphor from Isaiah 2 is a classic: "they shall beat their swords into plowshares." And yet, even well-intentioned plows do significant harm to the ecosystems present in the soil and create harmful conditions in the long-term: memories and effects of the disastrous "dust bowl" years in SK still linger today! Is there truly peace when human food production comes at the cost of violence to the soil? What can modern regenerative agriculture practices teach us about living in deep connection with the land and all of God's creatures, great and small?
