God in the Community Garden

This service took place outdoors on a beautiful sunny morning in the Wildwood Community Garden. We shared a potluck brunch together, enjoyed singing along with ukuleles and mandolins, and wandered in the garden for a while. This mini-sermon and invitation to the communion ritual was not the central part of the day, but just happens to be the one part that translates well to a computer screen…

What is our relationship to the garden—this particular one and the larger gardens of Turtle Island, the Earth, and the Cosmos? The ancients understood that we are all part of Creation and honored the deep connections that bind the whole thing together. In our fast-paced, fragmented world, how might we remember and honor the same?
